Alton Eugene Ellison, better known as Stinka, was born in Reidsville on May 10th, 1953, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack Ellison. Stinka transitioned from labor to reward on July 20th, 2026.

Stinka was the type of man that never met a stranger. He was a people person and the life of the party. In his early years, Stinka proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Navy. Later, he worked as a machine operator for the Ball Corporation, from which he retired. Stinka loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He loved R and B music, listening to Earth, Wind and Fire, and the smooth sounds of Carlos Santana. Stinka was an avid sports enthusiast and was the number one fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Above all, Stinka loved the Lord, and he was a devoted member of Jerusalem United Holy Church, where he served Him until he was called home.

Stinka is now reunited with his parents, Mr. Mack McClinton Ellison and Mrs. Dorothy Mae Palmer Ellison, and his three sisters: Maxine Ellison Washington, Deborah Ellison Dalton and Edna Ellison Crisp.

Stinka will forever live on in the hearts of his son, Alton Jamaal Ellison, of Reidsville; his brother, Julius Alfred Ellison (Clarissa), of Reidsville; his three sisters: Wanda Moyer, of Reidsville, Rosetta Ellison Badgett, of Reidsville and Linda Ellison, of Reidsville; his special friend, Mr. Joe Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
