IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bernice
Patrick
April 15, 1935 – December 9, 2025
We celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved mother, Mrs. Bernice G. Patrick, affectionately known as Mother Patrick. Born on April 15, 1935, to Earnest and Lillie Galloway, she was a beacon of love, strength, and unwavering faith throughout her 90 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James O. Patrick Sr.; her daughter, Evangelist Jacqueline P. Faucett; her son, Julian L. Patrick; and two grandsons, Terry L. Wilson and Michael Wickerson.
A native of Reidsville, North Carolina, Mother Patrick was educated, raised her family, and built her life within the community she cherished. She retired from the former GE Sylvania plant in Reidsville, where she worked diligently and formed lifelong friendships.
Mother Patrick served faithfully at Wentworth Baptist Church, where she held the position of President of the Pastor's Aid. She loved the Lord deeply and joyfully expressed her praise. Later, she joined Gethsemane Christian Church in Burlington, North Carolina, under watch care, attending faithfully until her health declined.
To all who knew her, Ma Patrick was a constant source of peace, warmth, and acceptance. Her love made everyone feel seen, valued, and embraced. Her faith was a guiding light—encouraging others to walk with God and to serve with kindness, generosity, and grace. Her legacy shines through the many people who came to know her as a friend, a supporter, and a good neighbor.
We honor a life lived with purpose, joy, and deep spiritual conviction. Those who knew her best will forever remember her gentle spirit, encouraging words, and steadfast belief in the power of love and forgiveness. Her church family and her community remain grateful for the profound impact she leaves behind.
Mother Patrick leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Rev. Dr. James O. Patrick Jr. (Lenese) of Efland, NC, and John W. Patrick of the home; one sister, Elizabeth Galloway, of the home; one grandson, Drea Patrick, of Colorado; six granddaughters: LaTonya Fields, of Efland, Jessica Patrick Taylor, of Durham, Anitra Amankwah, of Reidsville, Jocelynn Patrick, of Reidsville, Jennifer Paul (James), of Efland and Jasmine Faucett, of Mebane; three great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
