Carolyn Abbott passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on February 4, 1944, in Danville, VA, to James Quickman Price and Mary Sue Jeffries.

She worked for over 30 years with the United States Postal Service until her retirement.

Carolyn was of the Baptist faith and was an active member of Gwynn's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pelham, NC.

In her spare time, she loved to knit and crochet.  She also had a special love for puzzle books, playing bingo and watching soap operas.  Her favorite tv show was Blue Bloods.  She never met a dessert that she did not like. She loved her sweets.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, James Price Jr. and sisters:  Ophelia and Thelma Price.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Clarence Darryl Abbott (Denise); daughter, Angela Marie Abbott; sisters, Barbara Jean Williams of Philadelphia, PA and Audrey Buchanan of Pelham, NC ; grandchildren, Clarence Darryl Abbott, India Annette Abbott, Paris Shanice Brown and James Alexander Abbott; great grandchildren, Khaliyah Marie Brown, Skye Shanice Brown, Alasia Golden and Zylar Abbott, Erica Floyd, Brittany Savoy, Cornelius Savoy, Zaria Clyburn, Aryah Janneh, Osany Janneh, Gabbriel Mitchell and Alontae Mitchell.  And a host of nieces, other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

We all know that she never met a stranger. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends, who take comfort in the many cherished memories she leaves behind.

Though Carolyn is no longer with us in body, her spirit and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
