Our beloved Dallas Sims Broadnax transitioned from this life on March 21,2026 at Cone Health Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She fought her illness, knowing that God was her healer and that she was in his care. She was born on February 9, 1951, in Greensboro, NC to Willie and Julia Mae (Summers) Sims who proceeded her in death. Proceeded in death is also her middle sister Shirley Sims Whitley, and her nephew Sharun Bernard Sims.
She graduated from James B. Dudley High School in 1969. Dallas furthered her education at Dudley’s Cosmetology School. Throughout her life she maintained an extensive work history, she was well known for her love of decorating and cleaning homes. She started working at an early age of twelve by babysitting for the Dixon family, cleaning homes. She later went to worked in several of Greensboro’s well-known establishments including Sears, Prago-Guyes as an Elevator Operator, Guilford Native American Association (GNAA) one of the state's oldest urban Indian Organization, Guardsmark Security Company at Lorillard Tobacco Company where she met her present husband Jamal and later, she retired from her works.
Dallas became a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Eden NC, the residing Pastor DaRon JeSi Morris. She talked and told everyone all about a great church family and pastor that she truly adored.
She leaves to cherish her most precious memories her husband Jamal; her two children, Shashane D. Chambers of Kannapolis, NC, and Kechia (Earl) Marsh Harper of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren; Khali and Kelis Harper of Greensboro, NC; her siblings Keltz (Brenda) Summers Sr. of Greensboro, NC, Willena (Joesph) Algood of Raleigh, NC, Andre Sims of Greensboro, NC and Donnetta Sims-Lewis of Kannapolis, NC. To also cherish her memories her nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
