James Terry Lynn entered this world on May 12th, 1946. He was born in Rockingham County, to Mr. John Henry Garrett and Annie Mae Lynn Mims Ray. On July 18th, 2026, James peacefully ended his earthly journey at his home.

James loved books and electronics and enjoyed working on the family farm. He loved to fish and tinker around with old cars. James was personable and friendly, and whatever was asked of him, he did. He was a quiet man with a gentle spirit, and he will be missed by all that were fortunate to know him.

James will now join his parents and his stepfather, Tommy Ray, in everlasting peace and rest.

James leaves to cherish his memories: his cousins, Willie Mary Tisdale, Rosa Mary Watlington, and Mary Ann Scales, along with a multitude of relatives, family and friends.
