Lisa Kay Thomas DeLoatch, the youngest of 12 siblings, was born on February 21,1971, to the late Haywood and Etta Thomas of Rockingham County. Lisa went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2026, at Moses Cone Hospital. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Lisa dedicated her life to not only serving her family and the Lord effortlessly, but to also being a mentor, leader and teacher. She spent her formative years serving at Mount Hermon Baptist church and later graduated from Rockingham County High School in 1989. Transitioning to the workforce she began at NCO UPS Call Center, Building Lives Christian Academy and she taught home school. On June 6, 2015, Lisa married the love of her life, Franklin DeLoatch Jr. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt. Lisa loved her family dearly and made sure she attended all the family functions, from birthdays to anniversaries and graduations. She was a devoted member of Building Lives Family Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, working with the media team, taking on various leadership roles, and beating her tambourine. Lisa was an avid sports fan, with her favorite teams being the Washington Redskins (Commanders), North Carolina State Wolfpack and Winston Salem State Rams. She also had the heart of a traveler, especially for visiting the beach, where she would be seen eating her favorite food crab legs.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Haywood Thomas; her son, K’ziyah Thomas; her stepdaughter, Jasmine DeLoatch; her four brothers: Joe Thomas, Freeman Thomas, George Thomas and Carl Thomas, her sister, Etta Elaine Thomas, and in-laws Franklin Sr. & Sharon DeLoatch in eternal peace.

Lisa will always be loved, and her memory cherished by her husband, Franklin DeLoatch, Jr., of the home; her son, Robert Reid, of Rockingham County; her stepdaughter, Shanice DeLoatch, of the home; her two brothers, Edward Thomas (Diane), of Eden and Chris Thomas (Sheila), of Ruffin; her four sisters: Maxine Thomas Johnson, of Florida, Sandra Williams (William), of Pelham, Diane Alverson, of Greensboro, Wanda Washington, of Greensboro, her in-laws Amy Williams (Donald), of Greensboro, Irena DeLoatch of Greensboro along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great- great nephews, friends and church friends.
