Obituary

Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, entrepreneur, musician, and community leader. He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Boston; his sons, Michael Boston Il (Monika) and Clarence Boston; his daughters, Sharmeen Dalton- Robles (Veronica), Aisha Boston-Wagner (Reginald), and stepdaughter Jordan McDaniel; his cherished grandchildren, Britian, Jalen, Gabrielle, Emory, King, Kimber, Kobe, Kimani, Kristen; and great-grandson, Daveon.

A visionary and innovative entrepreneur with a keen sense of business, Michael began his professional journey at the age of 18 when he opened a successful record store in Reidsville, North Carolina. His passion for music extended beyond business-he was a talented musician who led several bands throughout the 1970's and 1980's.

In the 1990's, Michael expanded his entrepreneurial pursuits by opening and operating several nightclubs in North Carolina. He later settled in Greensboro, NC, where, alongside his sons, founded Boston's House of Jazz, initially created to provide a platform for local artists to showcase their talents. From Boston's House of Jazz emerged some of the most prolific local talent in the state, making it a cornerstone of North Carolina's music and cultural scene.

Michael Anthony Boston, Sr. was the Retired Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Boston's House of Jazz, Boston's Bourbon Street, Boston Realty Group, and Mike Boston Entertainment. He also served as Senior Vice President of Boston Investments, Inc., acted as Chairman of the Board of Boston Dynasty, Inc., and was the Co-Founder of the Michael & Anita Boston Foundation.

His professional reach extended into funeral and cremation services, including M.A. Boston Mortuary, Boston's Mortuary, and Cremation Services of Atlanta. He was also a former member of Downtown Greensboro, Inc., an active member of the Greater North Carolina Black Chamber of Commerce, and a lifetime member of the Rockingham County NAACP.

Beyond business, Michael was a dedicated philanthropist who supported numerous initiatives throughout the community. His leadership, generosity, and commitment to empowering others left a lasting and meaningful impact. Mr. Boston's legacy lives on through his family, the artists he championed, the businesses he built, and the community he helped shape. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
