Ruthef Defate Gwynn, better known as "Bow Wow", was born on August 22nd, 1939, in Guilford County, North Carolina, to Dallas Thacker and Josephine Gwynn Parker. Bow Wow made his peaceful transition into eternal rest on October 14th, 2025.

Bow Wow had an affinity for classic cars and enjoyed restoring them and attending car shows. He could also often be found fishing in any of the local waterways, enjoying the tranquility of being on the water.

Bow Wow loved spending time with his family, especially his wife of 55 years, whom he affectionately called "Mama". He loved a good homecooked meal, with his favorite foods being fried chicken, salmon croquettes, pinto beans and of course, banana pudding. He was of the Baptist faith, and was a dedicated member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, where he selflessly served the Lord until the end.

Bow Wow will now be reunited with not only his parents, but also his brother, Ellis Parker; his sister, Regenia Holt and his grandson, Reggie Gwynn.

Those left behind to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Mrs. Annie Moore Gwynn, of the home; a son, Ruthef "Jerome" Gwynn (Diana), of Thomasville, NC; his daughter, Valerie Harris, of Columbus, Ohio; bonus daughter, Jacqueline Rice (LaMarr), of Greensboro, NC; his sisters, Faye Harley, of Greensboro, and Lavern Wyrick (Clyde), of McLeansville, NC; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; special friends, Charles Carmack and Mr. Willie Baines, and host of many family and friends.
