Thelma Bernice Slade was born on November 8th, 1949, to Ed and Flossie Simmons in Rockingham County. Thelma's earthly journey came to an end on November 30th, 2025.

Thelma loved going to the movies and occasionally visiting the casinos. She thoroughly enjoyed her family and loved them dearly.

In addition to her parents, Thelma will now join her son, Danny Neal; three brothers, Bill, Charles and Jimmy Simmons; and her sisters, Barbara Harris, Mary Mitchell and Shirley Richardson in eternal peace and rest.

Thelma leaves behind her son, Andre Emmanuel Neal; a brother, James Simmons (Lois), of Reidsville; her two sisters, Peggy Womack, of Reidsville, and Catherine Galloway (Eugene), of Greensboro; two grandsons, Andre Jihad Neal and Danny Christopher Neal; her three granddaughters, Audrea Sherrie Lipscomb, Laila Nichole Isley and Sahara Shalese Neal, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
